Scotland 1995

Cat and I left York and rode the rails north to Edinburgh. Like on my previous trips to that beautiful city, I used the Scottish railroads to good advantage for seeing the surrounding countryside.

	Here's Mr. Braveheart himself, William Wallace, as he appears in the streets of Stirling today.
Also in Stirling, I took a moment to pose with a hero of later generations, Rob Roy MacGregor. Notice the long arms? I wouldn't want to mess with him!
	Linlithgow is a town between Stirling and Edinburgh. It doesn't have much to tempt the discriminating sightseer except Linlithgow Palace, where Mary, Queen of Scots was born. The palace is in ruins, but tourists are free to clamber around. This is the centerpiece of the courtyard.
And back to Loch Katrine, on a sunnier day than when I saw it first in 1991.
