My reason for this journey was my bestest of all friends, Tommy, who was studying for a year in Norway. Granted, he didn't actually spend much time in the cities he was SUPPOSED to be in, but he had fun, and I certainly did, too!

	Forget Seattle. You want a rainy city? This is it: Bergen! But OH, what a great way to get my first glimpse of Europe!
Squint through the mists of this forest outside of Bergen, and see in the distance an ancient Viking stave church. We're talking atmosphere!!

	This trip, cold as it was, was over too soon. Then we were off to the nearest town to catch a train back to Bergen.
