| Notes for Lillian Mae GOODWIN | ||||||||||||||||||
| 7Obituary Lillian Mae Goodwin, born March 3, 1907, expired November 17, 1981 at the Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA., following a brief illness. Her stay on earth was 74 years, 8 months and 14 days. She was the daughter of Barkley and Malinda Goodwin of Kennett Square, both deceased. Lillian spent all her youth and adult life in Kennett Square where she worked as a domestic. As a young adult she joined a number of social organizations, memberships in which she renounced upon becoming a Jehovah's Witness. Lillian was the mother of one daughter, Ruth, now deceased, an unofficial adopted daughter, Susan Beamer, five nieces - Mrs. Rose Linda Campbell, Mrs. Mary Frances Carter, Mrs. Anita Fontaine, Mrs. Linda Goodwin and Ms. Ruth Goodwin; five nephews, Mr. Owen W. Hanna, Dr. Robert H. Hanna, Mr. Carter R. Hanna, Mr. Barkley S. Hanna and Mr. Leon Goodwin; four first cousins - Mrs. Liza Peterson, Mrs. Betty Peterson, Mr. Sam Peterson and Mr. Pete Peterson - and a host of second and third cousins. Ms. Goodwin was a very devout Jehovah's Witness and dedicated her life to the service of her faith. She was a lover of life and attempted to bring sunshine and joy to all the lives she touched. She had a great love for children and has been an inspiration to the youth in the Kingdom Hall. One of her favorite passages of scriptures was Ecclesiasiasties 12:1, Remember now your Grand Creator in the days of your young manhood, before the calamitous days proceed to come, or the years have arrived when you will say: "I have no delight in them." Certainly those of us she leaves behind will greatly miss her. | ||||||||||||||||||
