Things wrong with the income tax:

  • It is immoral to take someone's income that they worked for. Working to give money directly to the government is called slavery.
  • The 16th Amendment, which authorized income taxes, was never properly ratified. See Bill Bensons landmark work The Law that Never Was
  • It expands the size of government to unprecedented levels by providing almost unlimited amount of money
  • It is socialistic. It takes from the rich to give to the poor. Marx was a big fan of the income tax, as he saw it as a way to redistibute wealth.

    • Those are just the most glaring examples.
